ANSWER: Hi Douglas -

Have you checked the float system in the carb? I know you said it was cleaned, however the best way to clean a carb is to take it apart. Sometimes there is debris in the feed bowl and it gets into the valve that feeds gas into the bowl. This will cause the bowl to overflow into the intake manifold.

Hope this helps -

QUESTION: ya i replaced the fuel pump and it stoped the gas over flow but its still cutting out it ran better for a bit after a put the new pump in but now its running like crap again idle is goin up and down and i tired havin it timed and it didnt hepl acutally ran worse when it was timed right  idk i like the truck but im running out or options and i have to have a rig to driveany more sugestions would be great

Answer
Hi Douglas,

I am not speaking of the fuel pump, but more of an internal issue in the carburetor. The only way that the carb would overflow with gas is if the float needle valve assembly is clogged or sediment is inside. This is inside the float bowl of the carb, so the carb has to be taken apart.
