Nissan Repair: 2005 nissan altima power door lock, 2005 nissan altima, power door locks

Question
I have purchased a 2005 Nissan altima and found out that the power lock on the drivers side doesn't work. It looks like it was jimmied sometime and maybe broke the linkage?  I've taken the door panel off but wasn't sure how to get to the linkage so I stopped and put it back on.  The other power door locks work..all except for the drivers door, so I know it's getting power.  Can you help?

Answer
Hi Lacy -

You were on the right track. Remove the panel, and the plastic behind it. That should give you access to the door lock, the latch, and the lever. The latch itself supposed to have 3 linkage connections to it. Ensure that they are all there. All connections to the link are held by plastic clips. If one is missing, there is a good chance that it is on the bottom of the door - inside.

It should simply snap on to the link. You are correct usually this happens when someone tries to "slim jim" the lock.

Hope this helps -
