Nissan Repair: Vent Controls not Working, vacuum leak, vacuum line

I have a 1985 300ZX non- turbo, with standard controls for A/C and heat. The when I operate the controls air will only comes out the defrost vents at the base of the windshield. What do I need to research and fix to get the air to come out the vents in the dash?

Either the vacuum line that feeds the control panel has come loose or you have a bad control panel or the control motor that the control commands has come loose or is broken.  Listen for a vacuum leak under the dash and if there is none, you are going to have to get your head under the dash to see the control and if it is moving or if it is stuck.  Drivers side, under the dash you will have to get you head to observe the actuator motor for the defrost, vent, floor motor.
