Need more info, depending on what size engine you have, and if your vehicle is 2WD?, but here is generic info:

Normally the belt is replaced by loosening the 2 or 3 bolts that hold the alternator to the engine. One of them is an adjustment bolt. Once you have the bolts loose, push the alternator towards the engine to loosen the belt, and then remove. Compare the old belt and the new to verify you have the right size belt. Install the belt over the pulleys and ensure everything is aligned. carefully pry the alternator away from the engine with a pry bar or similar tool. Be careful not to damage anything. Tighten the adjustment bolt, release the pry bar, and then tighten the pivot bolt. Proper play is about 1 inch of movement from the belt.
