Nissan Repair: 1999 nissan altima tans problem, nissan altima, high ratio

i have a 1999 nissan altima that only goes into reverse sometimes. i have changed the filter and did a trans flush.i still have the same problem. i have read many articles on the same problem but nobody has written back with what worked for them.

Hi Jerry -

If you have replaced the oil and filter, then it is the trans that needs an overhaul. Usually reverse is the first gear that fails because it has a high ratio. You might also try an additive called AT-205. It has solved no shift problems for me in the past, and I highly recommend it.
