Nissan Repair: 2000 Max SE automatic life?, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
This unit was bought new, Toronto area, now has 391K-KM's(241K miles), there are several areas of suface rust and I am debating if it is worth the effort to repait the rus even if I  do it myself.

Top date plug coils, starter, front hubs/bearings, mass air flow sensor, alternator have been replaced. rest is original.

On the needs atention list is- 1 x ball joint, new rad.

Based on the age and gen condition what are you comments on fixing Vs forget it? (PS I hate dumoing cash into cars-prefer real estate!)

Answer
Barney,

I would keep it going for a few more years from what you have said.  The engine is pretty much builletproof.  And, things do tend to wear out.  So, I would do the radiator and ball joints.  Both can be corrected for under five hundred dollars total.  Think of the cost of a new car...  Once the problems equal a car payment a month then I start looking.  Otherwise, keep on driving it.
