Nissan Repair: A/C Compressor will not Engage, nissan altima, clutch replacement

I have a 2001 Nissan Altima, when i turn on the a/c from the climate control the blower motor comes on, but the compressor will not engage. After letting the car run for a while i will hear the compressor clutch engage for a short time not enough to cool the car. What can i do to fix this problem?

I would start by checking the fuse that controls the compressor to make sure its getting proper voltage.   You may have to start looking for another compressor, i belive the clutch replacement is a PITA and not worth it.  i would definitely get a used one, unless money is not an option, this is a pricey dealership part.   hope this helps.
