Nissan Repair: 95 nissan 200sx ser alternator, nissan 200sx, lifetime guarantee

i have a 95 Nissan 200sx ser 2.0L and i have had the alternator replaced 2 times in the last 2 years. Conveniently it went bad again 1 month after the year warranty was up.  I want to put in one that has a lifetime guarantee.  can you walk me through the steps of replacing the alternator and correctly putting the belt back on.  Thanks.

Hi Michael -

First and most important disconnect the battery at the negative terminal. Proceed to remove the power wire to the alternator, and unplug the regulator harness.

Remove the mounting bolts above and below the unit, as well as any other device that is in the way, like brackets or wires, remembering re-installing is reverse of removal.

Same time you should replace the belt as well.
