Nissan Repair: Computer problems, crank angle sensor, circuit failure

Question
I have a 2000 sentra gxe and have recently been having trouble with my tach dropping out and the vechile wanting to die unless I throttle it. The vechile quit on me and I can't get it to start back. I'm not getting fire to my plugs and they are dry, as if I'm not getting fuel, but I can hear what sounds like the fuel pump. I've checked all the fuses and have had a OBD2 test done which showed about 8 different alarms, all showing circuit failure. I think maybe the computer is failing or shot....... Please tell me what you think.

Also,if the computer is bad, could you tell me where it may be hiding in the car...(I have my dash out now) Thanks again!

Answer
Benji,

Check the cam position sensor and I bet that is the cause.  When the tack does strange things and you get error codes it is usually the cam position sensor.  Some call it the crank angle sensor.  But, basically it tells the engine where the engine is in the sequence of things.  If you replace the sensor and disconnect the battery for about five minutes then reconnect the codes will be gone.  If the light comes back on we go to Autozone and get the codes read for free and complete what is left.
