Nissan Repair: 1985 nissan 300zx turbo, nissan 300zx, pressure and volume

the problem is it keeps turning off.. but when i turn it over again it stays on for a bit then it shuts off again.. so when i drive it i have to keep turn it over to restart. im thinking its the fuel pump or a sensor but im not sure.. what do you think? thanks and any response will greatly appreciated

Hi Saul -

Yes, it could be the fuel pump. You will need to check the pressure and volume. Do you hear the pump going when you just turn the ignition on? Have you removed a fuel line and checked the flow?

Also, if the engine shuts off while it is warmed up, it could be the ignition module in the distributor.
