Nissan Repair: 1993 MAXIMA SE SOHC LEAKING WINDSHIELD WASHER RESERVOIR, windshield washer reservoir, rubber gasket

Question
My washer indicator light is on the dash.  I tried to fill the reservoir with new fluid, and it flows directly out the bottom of the car in a thin stream.

Do I need to replace the reservoir?  Is there a plug that might have popped out?  I can't see the tub, it's not visible.

Answer
Hi Henry -

Looks like you have a cracked reservoir. On the bottom of the reservoir you have the washer motor imbedded in the container with a round rubber gasket. It is definitely leaking from there. I believe there are only a couple screws that hold the reservoir in place, and you can lift it out. I think it is 10MM bolts. This is a dealer item, and not sold in regular auto stores. Sometimes you can epoxy the leak, depending on how large it is.
