Nissan Repair: 1990 Nissan Maxima power steering pressure hose, banjo fittings, nissan maxima

Question
I need to replace the power steering pressure hose. (The hose runs from near the ps fluid reservoir down to the pump.)  I have purchased a new one with the banjo fittings on each end.  Anything unexpected I need to know?  I notice there are four washers/bushings with the new hose and a small plastic plug. What are those for?  Will there be any loose parts that fall out once I remove the old hose?  I am assuming I need to jack up and block the car to crawl under to remove the fitting on the pump?  Any advice is appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
David,

YEs, jack up the car and support with stands and chock the wheels for safety.  The washers are for each side of the banjo fitting.  Use one new washer on each side and make sure you account for the two old washers prior to installation.  You do not want to double stack them.  Also, remove the lower connection first and drain the fluid.  Make sure you fill the system prior to starting so you do not run the pump dry.  The plastic plug is to keep debris out of the system while it is a part.
