Nissan Repair: 2000 Nissan Sentra GE--130,000mi squeals sometimes, nissan sentra, horrible noise

Sometimes, when my car is first started, it makes a horrible squealing noise, while I first accelerate.  It tends to go away eventually, and does nto happen each time.  I find it happens the most when I start my car after it has been parked in the hot sun, or first thing in the morning.  Usually, once I shift into second or third gear, the noise stops.

Do you have any ideas as to what might be causing this horrible noise?

Sounds like drive belt noise. There are two belts on your car. My suggestion would be to take it to Nissan to have them inspected and replaced. Do not be surprised if other things are wrong. With the mileage on your car a crank seal may be leaking onto the belts causing this. Also I have seen many broken or worn tensioners. Good luck.
