Nissan Repair: 2004 maxima se, throttle position sensor, mass airflow sensor

Question
HELP My car has no power,it will not accelerate if i put the pedal to the floor ,and it will build speed to about 50-60 if i just gradually give it gas.but it feels like the engine is straining, tranny was recently rebuilt and the gears change, the fuel pressure is good and the engine light is'nt on ,checked anyway there were no codes. just no power.

Answer
Leon,

The car needs to be checked on a Consult scanner to see if there is something going on with the variable valve timing.  Sounds like the cams are not advancing.  You say no codes so something is going on within the parameters of normal operation.  I could speculate the mass airflow sensor or the throttle position sensor but without looking I would want to put it on an engine scanner to see what is going on.  The Consult will show all systems and not just codes.  Email me back and let me know what you find.
