Question
2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE Car runs nice and smooth! Problem is when you start the car and proceed foward in 5 - 10 seconds you hear a click like noise and feel it in the gas pedal at the same time! If you stop and go you do not hear the noise any more.Only seem you hear it when you start the engine and go? Any ideas?

Answer
Frank,

The Altima is drive by wire.  There is no cable from the pedal to the throttle body.  There is a variable sensor on the gas pedal assembly.  So, if you are feeling something in the pedal I would have it checked.  Now, it could be the motor mounts since they have ferro-fluid in them so they get hard when you are driving and soft when at idle.  That could be the thing transmitting the clicking noise through the firewall to the pedal?  Since yours is new it could even be a loose exhaust mount ticking or the like.  I would get the car on a lift and check under the car where your pdeal is and in that area.  Another thing I would do is get the dealer to allow you to drive one of their other Altima cars of the same year and see if another car makes the same noise.  New model year and all stranger things have happened.  Email me back if you need more.
