Nissan Repair: 04 Maxima SE Wiper Problem, windshield wipers, 2004 maxima

On my 2004 Maxima SE, the windshield wipers all of a sudden stopped working.  My mechanic thought it might be a fuse but could not locate the wiper fuse.  This occurred after an ice storm, so he thought that maybe it caused the fuse to go.  He also said this happened to another customer with a 2005 Maxima SE, who had to take it to his dealer and they had it for two days.  Any thoughts on where this fuse is or what to do?  I am just outside of warranty.

The wiper fuse should be under the dash and if it happened dueing an ice storm see if the wipers are free as in you can move them with little or no resistance.  This could mean that the arm has popped off the motor.  If you hear no noise when you turn the wipers on the fuse is blown or the motor is burnt out.
