Nissan Repair: brakes, nissan vanette, haynes manual

Question
how to bleed the brakes on nissan vanette versa

Answer
Robert,

You will need a second person to push the pedal for you.  You will need three pints of good brake fluid.  Then start at the back wheels and have the person press the brake pedal and hold it while you open the bleeder screw and then close it quickly while the person is still pressing on the brake pedal.  After you close the bleeder screw they then let off the pedal and press it again.  Do one wheel at a time on the back and then repeat the process on the front wheels.  Keep the master cylinder filled so you do not get air into the system.  The first wheel is the worst as you are really cleaning out the master cylinder of the old brake fluid and it takes some time.  After the first one things get quicker since you are only getting the dirty fluid and air from those lines and not purging the master cylinder itself.  Get a Haynes Manual to have pictures of the process.
