Nissan Repair: low revolutions from a Nissan sentra, sentra 2001, air control valve

Question
i Have a sentra 2000 automatic and the problem is that when i'am in a stop the motor revolutions go down and the up again, it doesn't happen always but sometimes i also have a friend who has a standar sentra 2001 and he has the same problem.
in one time the revolutions were so down that even tough it is automatic,  the engine  went off.  do you have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it ... (the computer hasn't given me any check engine warning)

Answer
Erick,

There are several things that can cause your problem.  The first is the idle air control valve.  The second is the manifold absolute pressure sensor.  Have the throttle body cleaned and disconnect and reconnect the idle air control valve and see if the problem clears itself up.  If not email me back.
