Nissan Repair: 1995 Nissan Altima Cold Start, neutral safety switch, nissan altima

Question
I own a 95 Nissan Altima, that has a starting issue. No matter the weather the car will not turn over on the first turn of the key. But once the engine does turn over and the engine is warmed up, it will turn over when turned off. It's had a resent tune-up and my mechanics do not know what is wrong. The car has a new starter, spark plugs, and battery. I can't seem to find out what is wrong with the silly thing. If you happen to know what the issue is please let me know.
Thanks,
Charlene

Answer
Charlene,

The ignition switch might be worn out or the neutral safety switch might be worn too.  If you say it does not turn over on the first attempt try to move the shifter from park to neutral while turning the key.  If it starts up when in neutral you know the neutral safety switch is going out.  If not check the ignition with a test light when turning the key for the first time.
