Nissan Repair: Altima wont start; dies on road, nissan altima, sensor circuit

Question
Hi Dinger,
I have a 1995 Nissan Altima (GXE). It is hard to start recently especially after being shut down half an hour to an hour. The engine check light came on since this happened. It dies on road even if I can start it. There have been two episodes when it died on the road. But maybe 30 minutes later, I can start again and drive it home. It can start right away after overnight and hasn't died on highway, which is good thing.
Engine check codes: P0304 camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction.
I have changed the battery, spark plugs, gas filter. not working.
What's wrong here? Thanks

Answer
HI Des,

You have a bad sensor, probably a MAF or IAC. That check engine light on the dash is the key to an easy repair. You will need to take your car to someone that can scan it and resubmit to me the code number and I will tell you what needs to be done. Cottman transmission will do this for free if there is one near you.
