Nissan Repair: Instrument Panel not lit, 1991 nissan stanza, nissan stanza

I have a 1991 Nissan Stanza XE and recently replaced my radio and since then the instrument panel and shifter do not light up, I have replaced the dimmer switch, any idea's what it could be?

There is an instrument lead in the bundle of wires that lit your old radio's instrument light...you may have tied it to the wrong wire...so now when the instrument lights are suppose to be on, their not coming on--you probably blown its fuse, and will continue to do so each time the instruments lights try to come on.

You need to either:  1.)  find a manual to tell you which wire is the instrument lead and either connect it to you new radio's instrument lead, or don't connect it at all and tape it off; or 2.) undo all your radio's wire connections, get the instrument to illuminate (may have to replace a fuse), check for voltage on each wire with the instruments lights in the off, then on, position; until you can determine which wire is the instrument panel wire...then either connect it to you new radio's instrument lead, or don't connect it at all and tape it off.
