Nissan Repair: Nissan Pathfinder transmission codes, nissan pathfinder, torque converter

I've been struggling  with my 94 Nissan Pathfinder going into fail safe mode at high speeds. If I stop and restart the engine, the transmission immediately comes out of fail safe,  until the next episode.
I discovered the self-diagnostic test via About.com Auto Repair site. [ much thanks for the great information]  I'm getting a code 5 reading.

hehehe Scott your still going to be struggling! There is no code of 5. The code has to be two digits and they start at 11 and go up to 55. 55 means all systems normal. I need the scan. It's obviously a transmission issue in OD or something with the torque converter. Find a Cottman Transmission, they'll do it for free. If that is impossible, then we need to go to a shop that will help us out getting the code info. When you turn off the key, it resets the computer. The self diag won't show history codes, only current codes.
