Nissan Repair: 95 nissan altima Stalling Studder, nissan altima, signal sender

Question
im puzzled and desperate to get this problem solved i hope you can help.

car starts fine drives about 2 miles and starts missing then eventualy will die completly and wont start till cold again.

we replaced the coil.
i put ice on the little signal sender to the coil located on the breather housing after it stalled to cool it and it made no differance.

i checked the distributor no oil and was replced 6 months ago.

the roder came lose and the screw broke the roder
i discovered this and thought the problem was solved by replaceing the roder but still having same problem.
i did discover when it stalls and wont start thier is no spark.
but now i idled it in my drivway till it warmed up it never died but acted like it was starving for fuel cutting out and was emitting a lot of steam from exhost after it was completly warm it ran fine with no steam almost like a choke problem.
now im realy confused...
Any ideahs would be helpfull

Answer
Rick,

When you say steam from the exhaust that means you need to check for a headgasket leak.  Pull the plugs and do a compression check.  When you say that it dies and there is no spark you need to check the ignition wire to the coil to make sure it is getting at least 9 volts in run mode and 12 volts in start mode.  If not, start back tracking wires until you find what it killing the circuit.  My bet is the resistor wire.
