Nissan Repair: electrical, alternator output, maf sensor

Question
i have a problem with my car's electrical.  it constantly reads 9.44 volts all the time.  the lights are dim and so are the interior lights.  i also think my maf sensor is bad because i have no power after 3000 rpm and my car bogs out when i open the throttle quickly.  this happened after i arced the battery terminal so who knows what might have happened.

Answer
David,

The alternator is defective.  You should be over 13 volts and normally running somewhere around 14.2 max on the alternator output.  So, replace the alternator.  Also, since you shorted the system check the fuses at the positive battery cable too.
