Nissan Repair: 2002 maxima, metal noise, time steve

I have a 04 maxima and it makes a loud scraping,rattling, metal noise on start up and after  engine slow down after hours of interstate driving. It has 60000 miles. The noise stops after a few minutes of driving in the morning. Could you tell me what to do to fix this? Is this dangerous?

If the scraping noise is coming from the passenger side have the timing chain checked to see if it is loose and in need of replacement.  If this is the cause of the noise it needs to be done soon as it will screw up the engine.  No, it is not dangerous but it can cost bucks it if breaks.
