Nissan Repair: Rotors on 2001 Sentra SE, nissan sentra, performance friction

Question
Hello Von,
I need to replace or have my rotors turned on my 2001 Nissan Sentra 2.0 SE.  When I spoke to a parts person at my local parts store he wanted to know if the car had a performance package?  I told him that the car is stock from the factory and he was at a loss without this information.  Am I right in assuming that the description of the car should have told him what he needed to know?  If not, then how can I tell if the car has been beefed-up?  I know that the suspension is different than the model with the 1.8 engine, but then again, should he have know the difference between the cars?  Anyway, anything that you can tell me would be helpful in explaining what the car has in it.  Thanks much.

Answer
Tim,

Buy a set of rotors at autozone or pep boys for around $50 each and be done with it.  Nissan rotors are thin to begin with and if you turn them they sometimes warp.  Your choice since it is only aobut $10 each to have them turned and another $65 for pads from courtesynissan.com since I like factory pads.  You could go with Performance Friction Carbon metallic from Autozone as I have had good luck with these.  But, they cause more dust than the factory ones.  I like stuff that works so I am not hocking anyones stuff so I just go with stuff that works.
