Nissan Repair: 95 240sx alternator good,battery drains, alternator wiring, 240 sx

I have a 95 240 sx with a sr20det (redtop)out of an s13 the car was automatic but now is standard. Ok my problem is that it seems my alternator is not charging my battery or i have a short somewhere cause the battery to not recieve power. I went and got the problem looked at and had my alternator replaced. The car drove fine on my way to work and home but when i was fixing the idle in my garage the battery started to die and its the same as before! I noticed that the battery drained really fast when i had my headlights on. Any information would be much appreciated.

The alternator wiring is probably the cause.  Check the harness and see if the wires are connected correctly and check the fuse to the battery where the wires come together by the positive battery cable.  These are the most probable cause if the alternator tested good.  I would take the car to Autozone or Checker and ahve them check the charging system after I had the battery re-charged and checked the connections and fuses.
