Nissan Repair: Nissan A/C not working., nissan maxima, dat nguyen

Hi Von Sudderth,
I have a Nissan Maxima'98 SE, just replaced 2 belts, 3 days ago, since then, when  the car just starts moving,I hear a noise like the brakes get stuck, and today, A/C not blowing cool air at all even the light switch is on. I opened the hood and did not hear the compressor engaged either.
I already check the fuses inside and under the hood too. Nothing bad.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Check the belt to the compressor and see if it is tight first.  If the belt is tight and the compressor is not coming on then check the pressure.  I bet you will need to add a can of R134 if there are no leaks.  R134 has smaller molecules and it seeps out over time.  A can a year is normal in older cars.
