Nissan Repair: no spark, rotor coil, nissan sentra

Question
I've got a 1988 nissan sentra that is getting no spark from the coil. I have replaced the Plug & Wires, Distributor, Cap, Rotor,Coil, Power transformer(Ignition Control Module). There is 12 volts to Dist.,and Coil. I notice on the ground from Dist. there is a inline plug that I believe is a Capasitor. Could this be the problem?

Answer
Dave,

If you have power to the distributor and it is not working I would take the distributor out and check to see if the shutter wheel is not coated in oil.  With the years the seal fails and oil gets on the optics.  The condensor is to reduce noise.
