Good morning,

I live in Sicily (married to military) and I am having problems with my automatic transmission.  It slams hard into gear when accelerating too fast and sometimes when I am riding down the road.  I can see the rpms spike up past 30 and then it slams into gear and the rpms goes back down.  It is difficult to get a good repairperson here and I am hoping you know the problem and can let me know what I need to order for a repairperson here to fix it.  The transmission fluid has been replaced recently.  Thank you for your time and attention.

If the transmission slams when shifting the governor is sticking.  If you already had the fluid changed you are looking at having the transmission valvebody removed and cleaned to see if the sticking can be solved.  Basically a valve is staying off the seat too long and when it shifts it shifts hard.  If cleaning the valvebody does not work you are looking at taking the transmission down for a rebuild.
