Nissan Repair: 89 nissan maxima popping cluster and brake fuses, no tails either, light fuse, nissan maxima

we have a 89 maxima 4door auto loaded,
power locks dont work at all,  but the important thing is when you hit the brake the guage lights come on, and its popping the tail light fuse and the brake light fuse,
the audio system is connected oem style and no problems there, and we have had problems in the past with the dimmer not working, (just not changing the brightness) but now the guage lights dont work at all exept when pressing the brake,  and like said its blowing bothe brake and tail light fuses. need help asap

I be the master light switch on the turn signal stalk is screwed up.  Now, you could check the brake pedal switch.  But, the current must be backfeeding out of the brake circuit and into the cluster and tail lights at the same time.  I bet changing the master switch would correct the problem.
