Nissan Repair: 94 Pathfinder Odometer not working., scan code, knock sensor

Question
Recently, I have just got some work done on my Pathfinder. Before the mechanics worked on it, they did a computer scan and found out what needed to be repaired (ie: Replaced Knock sensor & Exhaust Manifold Gasket/drivers side, and tune-up).  When I brought it to the shop, my odometer was working.  I needed my car for a errand that afternoon BEFORE they could do the work.  I got into my car, to fill up my gas tank, and I noticed that my ODOMETER was NOT WORKING.  I brought it back to them and told them of my problem, which happened AFTER the computer scan (CODE 34 was what it showed)  They checked continuity between terminal and ECM. (I don't know what that means).

Anyway, I told them of the problem and they said they would check it out.  When I got my Pathfinder back...IT STILL WAS NOT WORKING!  What do I need to do to correct this problem?  Please help!

Answer
Cori,

If the odometer is not working and the speedometer is working then it is in the cluster.  If they both do not work then I would replace the speed sensor.  I would get one from the wrecking yard and chenge it out as this is the cheapest alternative.  No, I do not think the shop had anything to do with it failing.  Things happen when a car gets older.
