Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 2002 Rendezvous, buick rendezvous, upper intake manifold

I'm need to replace the thermostat and possibly the water pump in my 2002 Buick Rendezvous 3.4L V6 w/ 84000 miles. Found the pump no problem but I can't find the thermo' in the usual area (top radiator hose as it enters the engine)Got any pictures?

Thats where it is, top radiator hose.
The upper intake manifold MUST be removed to replace the thermostat.
I cannot post pics here.
