Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 87 oldsmobile ninety eight (fuel injecter relay)?, camshaft position sensor, oldsmobile ninety eight

Question
one day i drove my car to a car wash to wash the engine. i was told by various people that it should not harm my car. after washing it i started it and drove away after 5 min the service engine light came on. when i reached my destination i turned it off for a sec then tried to start it again to see if the light would go away. but the car hasn't started since. it turns over just fine, i checked for spark by pulling a plug wire off inserting a screw driver and arcing it against the block and yes there was spark. i also checked the fuel pump and it is running fine as well(i just listen to it while my friend turns the key to on). i thought it might be the fuel pressure regulator but when i turn the car over gas sprays from the shraeder valve on the gas line when its depressed. i thought it might be flooding so i pulled a spark plug out but its bone dry as long with every other one. there is also power to one side of the fuel injectors plug when i turn it over( i checked this with a volt meter ). so I'm pretty sure its either the ECM:( or hopefully just the injector relay but I'm not sure where this relay is located. whats your thoughts on this van.

thanks Aaron

Answer
Hi Aaron,
The only relay associated with the injection system is the fuel pump relay, but you can skip that since the fuel pump is running.
The ground side of the injectors is operated by the ECM. It uses the crank sensor signal to know when to inject, so I would find the connectors to the crank, and possibly a camshaft position sensor, and the ECM. Unplug them, look for moisture, and hose them out with WD-40.
I wouldn't worry about the injector connectors, cause they use full battery voltage, and the water wouldn't dissable them.
But those sensors use a 5 volt refference voltage and read the return, and just a tiny bit of moisture will short the signal and play havoc on it.
Get rid of the moisture, and everything should be fine.
