Suzuki: Popping Noise in the front end, wheel bearings, ball joints

Question
What would cause my 87 Samurai to pop in the front driver's side when I go around a turn? I replaced the wheel bearings and greased my ball joints and they look fine. My knuckle bearing is starting to leak some. Would that cause it to pop or would it be something else?

Answer
Actually, the knuckle has a birfield joint(like a cv joint) in it.  Either that or the bearings that rotate when the knuckle rotates could be the issue.  Does this happen when the hubs are engaged or disengaged?  If it makes a series of clicks with the hubs "in", it seems probable that the birfield joint has issues.
