Plymouth Repair: 1996 Plymouth Voyager starter, plymouth voyager, 1996 plymouth voyager

Question
I just replaced the starter in my 1996 Plymouth Voyager Le 3.8L. The van now starts up with no problem. However, I have now got a clicking or buzzing sound that is coming from the starter whenever the van is running. Any idea what could be causing this? Is it possible that I installed anything wrong? It was pretty straight forward. The bolts were hard to get to. Is it possible that they are not tight enough and the starter is not perfectly straight? Please help. Thanks

Answer
It sounds like the starters drive gear is still engaged with the ring gear on the flex plate. Assuming that the starter was correctly installed I would venture a guess that the starter is defective. Did the starter you replaced also make the same type of noise. If so, then there may be an underlying condition that caused the starter to fail in the first place.
