Pontiac Repair: code reader, obd ii, firebird formula

I have tried to get two code readers to work on my 94 firebird formula with the LT1.Nothing comes up,it doesnt even flash but the readers work on my husbands truck.Whats up with that?

not all code readers work on all cars ands trucks. Generic tools may or may not work on all cars. 1994 thru 1196 cars-trucks are finicky pre OBD II and early OBD II computers systems there were lots of changes to the computer operating systems and athat is why the readers don't seem to work on your car. stop by one of the big box auto parts stores and have them scan the car for codes.
