Pontiac Repair: hard to start after sitting more than 10 minutes., fuel pressure regulator, vacuum line

Question
My 2002 gtp starts perfect first thing in the morning but after that if  it sits more than a few minutes it cranks for a while then sputters but then runs fine. If it only sits a few minutes it will start right up, no sputter. My mechanic put injectors a while back. When I check the fuel pressure I get, key on (no start)49psi, key back off it loses about 8 or 9 psi in ten minutes, the after half hour its about 25psi. I don't know if that is normal or not, anything i read says you shouldn't lose more than 5psi in ten minutes. Could it be fuel pressure regulator?

Answer
Hi Jamie:

that is too quick of a bleed off. you are getting a vapor lock issue or the fuel is leaking into the engine. if the injetors were replaced for this issue I guess it didn't fix it. injetors can leak and cause this but not all that often. more likley is a pressure regulator leaking the gas into the vacuum line let the car sit for sat 1/2 hour and pull the line of the regulator there should be no raw gas in it. if so the regulator is bad. the other thing could be the check valve in the pump leaking and the pressure is bleeding back into the tank.
