hi i would like to know if there is a way to disconnect they security system in my 1999 oldsmobile alero ive replaced it 2 yrs ago and now its doing it again the car will go into security mode when i try to start it and then i have to wait atleast ten minutes before i can try to start m y car??? where i live theres no reason to have a security system in my car let alone have to pay another 390$$$$to have it replaced again... is there anyway that i can have my mechanic by pass the security system so my car wont go into security lock anymore???  thank you

Hi Christy:

It depends on what is wrong with the security system if it indeed is the lock housing then yes there is a way to bypass the housing. if it's a wiring issue or a body control computer then no you can not bypass it. Go to any alarm/remote start aftermarket installer and they will have a module taht will bypass the security sensor in the lock housing. That is what they use to make a remote starter kit work on these cars. But by the time they sell you it and install it you may be right in the same price range and fixing it the right way.
