Pontiac Repair: fuel pump, crank shaft position sensor, grand prix gtp

Question
I have a 96 grand prix gtp (with swap to 3.1 liter) the car does not get spark or fuel. I am trying to replace the fuel pump. I am wondering how to make sure the pump it self is the problem and not anything else. all i know is the pump is getting some power and it is not energizing when key is turned and 0 psi in the fuel line. no spark either...ICM, coil packs, plugs, wires, all new.

Answer
Hey Josh:

well if you are getting power to the pump that's good how about a good ground to it? if your missing a gound same thing no pump running. If it has power and ground it will need a pump then. As for the no spark the only other thing you haven't changed is the crank shaft position sensor. Same thing at the ICM make sure you have power and ground to it when the key is turned on. it's on the small 2 wire plug on the module the pink and black wires are power and grounf to the module. Give it a try. Good luck :)
