Pontiac Repair: 91 sunbird no fuel no spark follow up, hey steve, bearly

Question
First of all i like to think you again.been driving around last few days and no problems what so ever . but if it dies again i know what to first look for.  my question is how tight to u post to tighten down the ignition module. when i toke it off it was bearly snug. Is that how tight they post to be is barely snug or snug down or snug down tight. I snug mind down tight. but the more i thought and with heat grease on the back of it should it loosen it up some??  well thats all for now.. thank you and thank you agian. And have a great Easter..... Steve

Answer
Hey steve!

Glad it worked out for you. That grease is dielectric grease It's so there is no corrosion builds up between the housing and the module. Tight is tight! if it's loose it's not a good thing. The heast transfers through the module into the housing That is why it needs to be tight. If it's loose the heat will not transfer properly and it will burn up another module!
