Honda: 98honda engine light on after new engine, gain speed, auto zone

My car overheated and some guy put water in the raditaor on my way home and messed it up futher on my way home for thanksgiving. I just now got my car back and someoneput a new engine in it. Now the engine light is one, and the car doesnt gain speed fast, on the rmp/1000m it wont go past 3 and half and it starts messing up. They told me they put a engine in it with 60,000 miles.  I dont know if its safe to drive back to purdue from alabama? and if they messed up the car or if the engine is bad.

A check engine light usually indicates that there is an emissions problem.  You need a dealer, or auto zone to check the code that the ECU is throwing.  They have special machines that tell exactly what's wrong.  But I would bring it back to the place that installed the new engine.  They should have warrantied their work.
