Pontiac Repair: Stereo issues, delco radio, pontiac montana

Question
My 2004 Pontiac Montana Van's CD player will not eject or play the CD that is in. And also there is no display on the stero clock.

Answer
Hi Rebecca:

Yup, 2 very common issues with that style of radio. The display cuts out and cd's get jammed inside them. Neither problem is fixed at the dealer. we don not repair them we order genuine factory remanufactured exchange units. You can have any GM dealer order you one. The only catch to this is the radio has to be configured to work with your van's options with a GM scan tool. The cost of the radio is usually about 200-250 and the labor is usually less than an hour. I do not recomend getting an aftermarket radio especially if your van has Onstar and you use it. Good luck :}

P.S. do not use burned CD's in the delco radio's especially ones with paper labels on them. The heat from the radio makes the labels loosen up and then that is what makes the cd's jam up inside of them.
