Pontiac Repair: Heating Problems, blower motor resistor, wiper cowl

Question
I have a 2002 Grand Am SE.  On the first 3 levels of my heater control nothing
happens, no sound or heat blows out.   I have to turn it up to level 4 or 5 fan to
get heat to blow out.  I recently had a new water pump installed can this have
something to do with the problem?

Answer
Hi Reta:

Your car needs a blower motor resistor this is a pretty common issue with this car. When it's replaced amke sure ther is no water or corrosion inside the connector for the resistor. If so there is a seal that has to be installed unser the wiper cowl to stop the water from getting into the HVAC box. Good luck and happy holidays :}
