Pontiac Repair: 92 Grand Prix: engine shift, overheating, blower, coolant leaks, radiator coolant

Question
****** Follow-up Questions/Comments: *******

For question #1:

No, the car does Not stall.  It's an automatic transmission.  When I get to a dead stop and it doesn't engage, I just shift from Drive to Neutral and back to Drive and I'm good to go.

question #2:

How do I check for air in the coolant system?  Could this problem be due to a bad temperature gauage or temp switch?  I've read one of the questions/answers on your site that mentioned this.

question #3:

Thanks!  I'll check for loose vacuum hoses.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

1st Question: Engine doesn't like to go after going to a dead stop.  What could this problem be?  Is it the shift solenoid problems I've read about?

2nd Question:  Engine is overheating.  I've changed the thermostat and had the radiator flushed.  Can you help?

3rd Question:  When blower is turned on for AC or Heat, air only blows from the bottom vents and not the top vents.  What could cause this problem?
Answer -
Hi, when coming to a stop and putting on the brakes do the engine stall?

Make sure that the fan is working, check for coolant leaks, air in the coolant system can cause a heating problem.

On the blower, check for a loose vacuum line under the hood and dash.

Answer
On the transmission if you have not done it need to change the filter. If you has changed the filter then it's in the transmision. A valve can be sticking in the valve body and cause it to do this.
Here are some thing that makes and engine to run hot.
