Porsche Repair: 1982 928 S Alarm System?, pressure sensors, 928s

Question
Dave, I"ve purchased a 1982 928s with 84,000. When I bought the car the master cylinder was bad. I drove the car anyway and it ran great. No missing, not hesitation and fast. I drove localy for a week with no problems. When I installed the master,it was used,the brakes were fixed but the car won't start. I used the pressure sensors on the bottom of the master that came with the used one. Other than that everything else was the same. When I replaced it I didn't disconnect the battery and I'm wondering if I may have trigger the alarm and can't shut it off. The car cranks but I have no Power to the coil and don't hear the fuel pump. If this is the case I'd like to know how to properly disconnect the alarm to take it out of the equation. Also, when the alarms active will the car still crank?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Hi again.

Thanks so much for the offer of the diagram...I'm really anxious to see what it looks like.  Alright, maybe I should get a life!  Anyway, my fax # is

Hi Andy,

I suspect the brakes and the alarm are really not involved at all and the reason the car won't start is more basic that that.  My experience in simliar situations is that I have inadvertently and unknowingly moved or hit or stretched a wire that caused it's connecting point to go from a fine connection to a faulty one.  And the worst part is it probably still looks fine.

I would focus my attention on the starter/ignition circuits and determine why the coil has no power and the fuel pump won't even work at the ON position.

As for disconnecting the alarm, it's doable but you'll need and I'd need a wiring diagram.  I've never been able to lay my hands on one for the 928 but I sure would love to.  Sorry I can't suggest any otther clever fixes at the moment.
