RV Repair: 1996 Jayco J-1206 Pop up Cable Repair ?, cable repair, replacement cable

Hello,

I have a 96 Jayco j-1206 Pop up and it appears that my main cable broke. The wench gets no tension at all can you give me a quick run down on how to fix this? I have a replacement cable and just want an idea of what to do to replace the broken cable.

First thing you will need to do is to open up the cable drive areas that is to say there will be access panels that should open it up. Then things get a little easier because you will be able to see the broken cable and should be able to figure out how it runs by tracing it down. You may need to get the top up and blocked off to replace the cable but that will depend on whether there is alot of tension when it is closed. If there is anything else feel free to ask.
