RV Repair: slideout awnings installed, window awnings, small claims court

Question
we just had a small slideout awning installed and the large one has the top awning cover and a window awning all in one.
The installed drilled 10 holes wrong for the window awning part. He said oh well. they changed the installation part.
I went to pay the bill. He charged $434.00 install rate. Plus $40.00 to come back out to fill the holes he drilled wrong. I told him that the holes looked awful. He got mad.
He said all he could now would be to put gel coat over the silicone. I am not happy. We are talking about a $90,000
fifth wheel here. I am almost scared to let this guy do any
thing else to try to fix this mess he made.

Answer
Hi Arnold, Sorry to hear about this. Was it a shop, a mobile RV Tech, or some handyman? I have to tell you that window awnings are not that hard to install. This guy could not have read the directions. And if he did! I would not let him fix you a ham sandwich. I have made mistakes like this. Everyone dose once in a while. But I had them repaired at a body shop. What is your question? Take him to small claims court. Its a slam dunk if you ask me. Good Luck
