RV Repair: Suburban furnace model DD-17DSI, suburban furnace, spring return

When my Suburban model DD-17DSI furnace is turned off at the thermostat it still had a current draw of 586ma. Is this due to the electric gas shutoff valve and to be expected? Also, how is the best way to fix this? Thank you, Jim C.

Hi Jim:
There should be no draw there with the thermostat off. The gas valve is a spring return and does not draw current when off. Sounds to me like a partial short in the wiring or the thermostat. Might be hard to find. Start by disconnecting wires at various points till the draw dissappears. Good luck.
