RV Repair: rear bumper, stress cracks, support brackets

Question
I have a 04 Dutchman 20 ft trailer lite (hybryd) ends pop out for beds.  On the road I've seen many others do it, so I did, attached a hitch and put our bikes on the back bumper.  Of course stress cracks have prevailed making that a bad idea.  I still want to take our bikes along on our camping trips, how can I reinforce the back end to support the weight?

Answer
Michael,
It sounds like you need to have someone weld some support brackets from your frame to your bumper. I would go to a welding shop and tell them what your problem is. They should be able to just use some scrap steel to reinforce that area. It's a fairly easy fix.
Do you know what brand of bike rack it is? Is it a Hidden Hitch brand? We use that brand at Carriage, and they come with support brackets as part of the kit. What does Dutchmen say about the situation? You could also call their Customer Service Departmant and see what they recommend.
Hope this helps, and give me a vote,
Dave
